JOHN SANGSTER – Marinetti Soundtrack (1969)
To celebrate the 40th anniversary screening of the UBU film Marinetti, the music by John Sangster is finally seeing a soundtrack release. Drawing heavily from French Musique Concrete as well as the Avant Garde of Sun Ra and Moondog, Sangster creates a whirling mass of psychedelic mayhem. Marinetti is an amazing and rare insight into the Sydney underground of the late 60s. Twisted jazz and field recording fused with primitive sampling & film dialogue; all echo the motley sound of the acid-stained Down Underground. Featuring members of Tully.

ROB THOMSETT - Yaraandoo (1975)
Originally limited to 100 LP copies, Yaraandoo is an insanely rare private press album that came out of Canberra in the early 70's. The recording is a personal and highly unique concept album exploring the aboriginal myth of 'Yaraandoo'.
Imagine a stripped down David Axelrod crossed with the sound of Euro jazz prog. A sublime hypnotic sound of Mellotron, guitar and flute reminiscent of the majestic quality of Sven Libaek. Amazing stuff.

JOHN SANGSTER - Once Around the Sun Soundtrack (1970)
The forgotten score to the documentary about the Australian equivalent to Woodstock, the "Ourimbah festival". In contrast to the Aussie Rock and folk sounds of the festival, Sangster delivers an expansive orchestral spacejazz masterpiece. Likened to Jean-Claude Vannier's 'L'enfant assassin Des Mouches', OATS is a uniquely orchestrated score where passages of avant garde incidental music sit along side thumping bass heavy psych. Featuring members of the Don Burrows Quartet, SCRA, Galapagos Duck plus the Sydney Philharmonic.
